What to Expect on Your Hunt
At Northern Descent Outfitters, a great hunt is about more than just bagging birds. It’s about enjoying the land, the people, and the wildlife. From early dawn to a laid-back evening at the lodge, we invite you to see the best of Saskatchewan with our experienced local team.
Early Mornings
Our mornings begin before the sun rises, with a quick cup of coffee and a light breakfast before heading out to the field for the morning hunt. The drive is short, typically around 10 to 30 minutes, where we'll set up a variety of decoy spreads, depending on the bird species we're targeting.
Midday Breaks & Local Fun
After the hunt, we return to the lodge for a hearty, home-cooked brunch. With numerous lakes so close, we have the option to enjoy an afternoon fishing trip or relax on the pontoon boat.
Our location is surrounded by three beautiful golf courses—one just a five-minute drive away, and the other two located nearby in Waskesiu National Park.

Evenings at the Lodge
In the afternoon, we set out again for a mid-day hunt, this time aiming for a different bird species. After the hunt, we head back to the lodge to relax with a cocktail and appetizer to share the stories and lasting memories from the day.
A delicious dinner prepared by our cook’s awaits us, ensuring we're fueled for another action-packed day to do it all over again tomorrow.
